Mission Paper Update!

As of yesterday, November 26, 2013, the mission papers have officially been sent in to the church headquarters and I couldn't be more happy and excited! I really can't believe this is all happening...for a while it honestly felt like I was never going to get there and it never was going to happen! Now it feels all so real and I am soo excited. Last night I couldn't contain myself haha I was so excited, yet so relieved at the same time :) I can't wait to tell Cody! He knows how discouraged I have been about this and it will be so great to hear awesome news. He is so excited for me and can't wait to have me be out there serving just like him. Another 2 weeks and the news of where I will be serving will be here! Yay! I am so excited to shop haha
I will keep you all updated :)

I finally got the bedroom lights I have always dreamed of! Haha it isn't very hard to find them, but during this season is the perfect time to get them. I am planning on these being year round, not just for the Christmas season. I just think it is a fun thing to do and I really love the atmosphere it creates at night...It is fun to sit and relax and read or write letters :) You can also intertwine them with your curtains, I don't have any so I used my headboard instead. Here are pictures that inspired me....

Here is my finishing look! :)

I just got them at the dollar store...nothing fancy. There are ones out there that are cheaper; these were the only white wired ones I could find though.

So ready for the holidays! :)
Don't be afraid to share any of your holiday ideas!

The First Package

So after 2 months I finally got together a package to send to my wonderful missionary. It took my creativity a while to spark up, but it finally happened :) There isn't any specific theme to this is a "just because" package full of randomness and love. I sent it out Thursday morning and it was supposedly delivered to him yesterday (Saturday) so I am super excited to know what his reaction was when opening it on Monday when he emails me...If he gets it before then, hopefully he does.

I decided to do the "open when" letters. I loved this idea and thought he would really have fun with these. These are what took the most time because honestly when I would sit down to write the letter my mind would go completely blank! Once I started going though everything got easier and I had letters coming out of my ears haha. I had to stop myself and realize that that was enough letters for now because Christmas is just around the corner and I needed to save the rest of the creativity for then. :p

The "open when..." titles I came up with were:
You need to know how much I love you.
You need to know my testimony
You are sick
It's a good day
You need a laugh
It's a bad day
You need encouragement
It's Thanksgiving

Other titles that I came up with that I want to do in the future are:
You can't sleep
You miss me
It's (Insert Holiday)

I also found this cute ribbon at Hobby Lobby and I thought it was quite appropriate for all this! :)
(This picture won't rotate sorry, haha you have to tilt your head)

I bought these at the elementary's book fair. They are just silly pens for him and his companion. Thought they would enjoy them. I also found a multicolor pen for Cody to mark his scriptures with.

Decided last minute to throw some Kool-Aid in there since it is still summer there haha

This is probably my favorite part of the package! He loves his chapstick so I decided to customize them. Haha I know he will enjoy these! :)

We both love Mac and cheese a lot and I know he can just go buy it at the store there, but I knew it would be 10x more special coming from his girl so I stuffed these in as well.

Somehow I fit everything in here! haha

Keep waiting girlys! It is all so worth it ♥

Today marks 2 months since my sweet missionary walked into the MTC. It has honestly gone by fast for me because I have been super busy with my 2 jobs and getting stuff ready to send to him. I know it won't always be this easy. There are going to be times when it feels that the days are inching along and this will never end, but I am trying my best to not dwell too much on those kinds of days. I just read his letters when I need some lifting up and they always comfort me and give me the hope and faith that I need to keep going. Prayer has also been such a big part in this. Cody and I totally couldn't do all this without our Heavenly Father's help. He is always there for us no matter what and I know from many experiences that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to be happy. Praying to Him always gives me the comfort I need that Cody will be safe while we are apart and that things will be ok. One of my favorite quotes that can explain this, "Everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it is not the end".  Many of us wonder why we get the trials we do, but we always must think of the end in mind. How will this experience help me in my future? I know that being apart from Cody is just a little part of my life. It isn't going to last forever. I know it will be so worth it and I know that I (or him, depending on who comes home first from their mission :p) will be right there waiting in the airport when he arrives home ♥

Ok has only been 2 months ha so what! Time has still flown by... :)

1 year and 6 months FULL of adventures

1 year and a half.
18 months.
78 weeks.
547 days.

Today Cody and I have been together a whole 18 months and I have loved every minute of it! We have become so close and he is my best friend for life. I love him and I am so proud of him for serving the Lord. Of course I wish we were able to be with each other today to celebrate this lovely day, but I know that this time apart will be all worth it in the end! I hope to be sending him a package real soon...those "open when" letters don't write themselves though. I am so excited for him to read those and I know he will love them so much. I will post those soon!
Today was quite busy. I got up for church and had my Sunday school class teach part of the lesson. I was really proud of them because I could really feel the spirit there and I knew they could feel it too! (haha I teach 13 and 14 year olds and it is not the easiest when their phone and iPod is more appealing). When I got home I went straight to the computer because I had A LOT to do and so little time! ugh! Most importantly is that I needed to get Cody's letter sent to him so it was all ready for him in the morning for is P Day. I had to be done with everything by 4:30 because my family and I were going to have dinner for my brother's birthday. So I totally went to town and didn't stop typing. I put together the cutest little picture for my man for the 1 1/2 year mark and that took some time, but I absolutely loved how it turned out. As I was finishing up his email, one of the pictures wouldn't send from my phone that I wanted to send to him. My parents were waiting for me IN THE CAR and I started panicking ..haha I really didn't need to be so dramatic though. I could have simply saved it and finished it later, but of course I accidently hit DELETE instead...oh man :( Well at least the email wasn't too long. I still had a pretty good idea of what I said so I typed all I could remember on my phone in the car. We got to my brother's house and had a nice meal. Then I had to rush over to Aeropostale because there was a holiday meeting...this was my first time working on Sunday  It was kind of weird. After that I raced home and hurry and finished Cody's letter and was able to add the photos. Everything turned out fine, but it is really different without Cody here. I miss him very much, but I have definitely seen the blessings because he is serving. My papers for my mission should be in soon. They are in the hands of my stake president so I am just waiting for his word that they are in! Very stoked and couldn't be more happy. I can't help but think that my mission will be 18 months also! Our 18 months have gone by so quick! :)

Happy year and a half my Love ♥
